tips from Patients
Not everyone’s experience with depression is the same. Don’t invalidate other’s feelings or your own feelings because someone else has it worse.
It may feel impossible, but opening up to a friend, parent, therapist, or other trusted individual can really help.
Affirmations can help stabilize your emotions during a depressive episode.
Try sitting in a different room than the one you usually are in for a change of space. It can help clear your head of the negative feelings sometimes.
Reducing stress can help lessen the impact of depression on your everyday life.
Make sure you are getting the right amount of sleep. A lot of times people with depression tend to sleep far too much or too little.
Talk regularly with friends and family if possible. Having a strong support network is a great way to manage your depression.
Focus on the little victories throughout your day. They can really make a difference in your attitude and thoughts.
